Get expert advice on reading your pattern, support learning new knitting techniques, and help fixing mistakes as you work on your own special project. Bring your own pattern and yarn, and spend time in the company of other knitters.

LEARN TO KNIT with Shellye

Learn all you need to know to start knitting! This class is perfect for total beginners as well as long-lost knitters looking to brush up on the basics.
Level: Beginner. Cost: $60, includes supplies.
KIDS KNITTING SERIES with Laura & Stephanie
SUNDAYS, 10:45 am - 12 noon
Feb. 5 & 19, Mar. 4 & 18
Come learn to knit! Parents can purchase any number of classes--we recommend at least two. At each class we will cover the basics of casting on, casting off, knitting and purling. Kids can progress at their own pace and get help with their projects. For girls and boys ages 9-12, parent must attend with child. The first 15 minutes of the class may be used to purchase supplies.
Level: Beginning. Cost: $25 per class or $80 for all four sessions, plus supplies.
TOE-UP SOCKS with Laura

Learn to knit a toe up sock.
Level: Intermediate; must be able to cast on, knit, purl and understand basic knitting in the round techniques. Cost: $60, plus supplies.
RIGID HEDDLE WEAVING with Laura
SUNDAYS, 2 - 4 pm

Come learn the ins and outs of weaving on a rigid heddle loom. Each session will feature a new project and highlight different yarns. Warping and weaving techniques specific to the project will be covered. Bring your own rigid heddle loom to get started on, or take turns on the pre-warped shop loom and take home a small sample. Handout with draft and instructions provided.
Level: All levels welcome. Cost: $25 per session, plus supplies.
SPRING CARDIGAN with Laura
TUESDAYS, 7 - 9 pm
Mar. 6, 13, 27; Apr. 3, 10, 17, 24; May 8
In this class you’ll learn the basics of sweater construction as you knit a simple top down raglan sleeve Dk weight cardigan. We’ll cover fit, yoke shaping, increasing, decreasing, frequently used knitting language, working sleeves, seaming, picking up stitches, and finishing. We will also discuss modifying this pattern to include more buttons or lengthening it to suit you. You must already be able to cast on, knit and purl. Come in to the shop to purchase the pattern, Eyelet Cardi by ChicKnits, and yarns ahead of class.
Level: Intermediate: must know basic knitting techniques including cast-on, knit and purl. Cost: $120, plus supplies. Pre-registration required.
FAIR ISLE PROJECT CLASS with Darcie

TUNISIAN with Jorel

Also called Shepherd’s Knitting, Hook Knitting, Tricot Crochet, Afghan Stitch. This technique is neither crochet nor knitting but has similarities to both. Small projects can be worked on a regular crochet hook. We will start with a small bag to learn the basics. Materials: Smooth yarn, worsted or thinner yarn. Afghan hook size I for worsted, H for thinner yarn, scissors.
Level: Advanced beginner. Cost: $25, plus supplies.
