SUNDAYS, 10 am – 12 noon |
July 9 & 16

Be the boss of your loops! If you’ve been intimidated by crochet patterns, now is the time to embrace the hook and expand your repertoire of skills. From trendy and embellished crocheted hats to feminine edgings on knits, crochet is both fun and liberating. We’ll learn basic stitches and get started on one or more simple projects.

Level: Beginner. Cost: $60 per class; plus supplies.

WEDNESDAYS, 7 – 9 pm |
July 12 : Taking the Mystery out of DPNs
August 9: Learn to Read Your Knitting

Expand your knitting skills this summer with two Next Steps classes! In Taking the Mystery out of DPNs, you’ll learn the classic method of knitting in the round. Double-pointed needles can seem intimidating — they’re short and pointy and there are so many of them! You’ll learn how to transfer live stitches from a circular needle onto double-points, just like decreasing at the top of a hat. We’ll also cast-on to double-points to begin a baby sock and discuss when to use four or five needles.

Learn to Read Your Knitting: If you’ve mastered the knitting basics, this class will help you move on to a complex project. Working together on a lace scarf pattern, we’ll focus on deciphering pattern abbreviations and instructions, creating stitches with yarn overs (yos), and selecting the right yarn, needles and knitting tools for the project.

Level: Beginner. Cost: $25 per class; plus supplies.

We’re making the switch to lighter-weight yarns and fibers as the weather gets warm! Our classes offer great inspiration as well as technical support and encouragement for your more challenging works in progress.
