PROJECT CLASS with Sydney/Anne

Turn your knitting frustration into a fun evening! Sydney will help you work through any challenges to finish your project successfully. Participants attend any 6 classes out of the 8 scheduled.

BEGINNING RIGID HEDDLE WEAVING with Laura
MONDAY, 2 - 5 pm |
January 15 & 22

Come learn the ins and outs of weaviing on a portable rigid heddle loom! We will cover: project planning, warping, weaving and finishing techniques. Bring your own already assembled rigid heddle loom and tools, 8 dpi rigid heddle, and approx. 500 yards total worsted weight yarns. If you don’t have a loom, a limited number available for use during class, reservation required. We will take a short break, bring your own lunch or plan to pick up something close by.   This class is for beginners or those that want to refresh and refine their skills. Please pick up the materials list when you sign up for the class.

Rigid Heddle Weaving


CHOOSE YOUR OWN SWEATER ADVENTURE with Sara

Are you ready to knit your first sweater? Or tackle a more challenging pattern? In this open-ended class, Sara will help you find the perfect match of pattern and yarn, and troubleshoot questions during your knitting. You may choose a CustomFit pattern or bring any sweater pattern you're interested in knitting.

Level: Beginner. Cost: $95, plus supplies.

 


KNIT CLUB FOR KIDS with Sara
WEDNESDAYS, 4 – 5 pm |
January 17 - March 28

This drop-in Knit Club is designed for kids aged 8 – 12 of all levels and abilities. Beginners will learn how to cast on and knit a garter stitch scarf. Ready to go beyond the basics? Come to class with your ideas and Sara will help you find the perfect pattern for your next project.

Level: Beginner. Cost: $15 per session or $10 each for 5 or more classes when pre-registered; plus supplies.

 


LEARN TO KNIT BEGINNER BASICS with Shellye

Learn the fundamentals of knitting, and gain the experience and confidence you'll need to successfully tackle your first knitting project.

TAPERED SCALES CROCHET SHAWL with Stephanie

This simple shell-motif shawl looks great in all kinds of yarn: solid, textured, variegated--the choice is yours! Learn how to make a foundation single crochet and adjust the size of the shawl to your liking. We'll make the swatch in class, then cast-on for the full-size shawl.

Level: Beginner; must know chain stitch and single crochet. Cost: $25, plus supplies.

KNIT A YOKED SWEATER with Darciestrong>
SUNDAYS, 3 - 5 pm |
March 4, 25 and April 15

Are you intrigued by all the colorful yoked sweaters designs everywhere? In this class, Darcie will help you understand and knit a pattern of your choice—either an adult or baby sweater—including tips and techniques for colorwork and construction.

Level: Intermediate; must know how to cast on/off, knit, purl, and understand basic knitting in the round. Cost: $60, plus supplies.

 


BEGINNING 8-SHAFT WEAVING with Laura
MONDAYS, 2 - 5 pm |
March 5, 12, 19 and April 2

In this class you will learn the basics of weaving. You will start by winding a warp, before beaming and threading an 8-harness table loom for a sampler. You will also learn good weaving technique, how to read a weaving draft, determine sett, calculate yarn requirements and finish your sampler. This class is designed for those that have never woven before or those that are looking for a basic refresher. Loom and equipment rental included in cost of class.

Level: Beginner. Cost: $125, plus supplies.

We do our best to help you any time you come with project challenges–if you need more focused attention, or want to be sure someone will be available to help, the Drop-in sessions are for you! We’ve recently added more sessions, and limited participants to 4 people to be sure you get the attention you need.

Every Wednesday 3 – 4 p.m.; 1st Sunday, 1 -2 p.m. (In February, 2nd Sunday due to Yarn Swap.)
