 Turn your knitting frustration into a fun evening! Sydney will help you work through any challenges to finish your project successfully. Please bring an easy project to work on while you wait for your turn to get help. Participants attend any 6 classes out of the 8 scheduled.

KNITTING STUDIO with Clementine

Carve out some time for yourself and your knitting projects! Clementine will be your coach, cheerleader and technical support for any works you have in progress. Bring a challenge project as well as an easy project to work on while you wait for help. Limit: 8 students.

Level: Advanced beginner; must know basic knitting techniques and be able to knit independently. Cost: $65 for all 4 classes ($95 in Nov./Dec.), or $20 per class, pre-registered; plus supplies.

This drop-in Knit Club is designed for kids aged 8 – 12 of all levels and abilities. Beginners will learn how to cast on and knit a garter stitch scarf. Ready to go beyond the basics? Come to class with your ideas and Allison will help you find the perfect pattern for your next project.

Level: Beginner. Cost: $15 per session or $10 each for 5 or more classes when pre-registered; plus supplies.

CABLE 6 SWEATER KAL with Clementine

Treat yourself to some selfish knitting time after the holidays! I'm thrilled to host Cecelia Campochiaro, author of Sequence Knitting and sought-after teacher, for a class and knit-along of her Colormill cowl. Learn how to blend color and texture in simple, unexpectedly beautiful ways with this master of knits and purls. Class size is limited to 12 people.

LEARN TO CROCHET with Stephanie

Be the boss of your loops! If you’ve been intimidated by crochet patterns, now is the time to embrace the hook and expand your repertoire of skills. From trendy and embellished crocheted hats to toys, feminine edgings on knits to home accessories, crochet is both fun and liberating. We’ll learn basic stitches and get started on a fun, practical crocheted bowl.

You’ve learned the basics—what’s next? Bring a project of your choice and Shellye will help you decipher instructions and learn new techniques.

MONDAYS, 2 - 5 pm
February 4, 11, 18 & 25

Learn the basics of weaving while creating a set of tea towels. You will start by winding a warp, before beaming and threading an 8-harness table loom for your project. You will also learn good weaving technique, how to read a weaving draft, determine sett, calculate yarn requirements and how to finish your towels. This class is designed for those that have never woven before or those that are looking for a basic refresher. Loom and equipment rental included in cost of class.

Level: Beginner/advanced beginner. Cost: $125; plus supplies.


SUNDAYS, 9 am - 12 noon
February 10 & 17

Come and learn the ins and outs of weaving a scarf on a portable rigid heddle loom. We will cover: project planning, warping, weaving and finishing techniques. Bring your own already-assembled rigid heddle loom and tools; 8 dpi rigid heddle, and approximately 500 yards total of worsted weight yarns. This class is for beginners or those that want to refresh and refine their skills. Please pick up the materials list when you sign up for the class.

Level: Beginner. Cost: $65; or purchase a Cricket Loom and get the class free!


Speed-Dating for Yarn with Sloane Rosenthal

With Stitches West coming up this month, and new yarns hitting the shelves for spring, it's a great time to learn some "dating" tips: how do you tell if a yarn is right for your project? What should you think about when you want to use a different yarn than what the pattern calls for? Local designer Sloane Rosenthal will cover these questions and much more, so you can find the perfect match for your next project!

Level: Beginner.

Pick one of the beautiful Marie Wallin designs to knit with a group of other admirers of her work. Choose from the colorwork designs from her Shetland book that use the Jamieson's Shetland yarns, or one of the series of books that use Rowan Felted Tweed. She also has had many designs in the Rowan Magazines using various yarns.

Level: Intermediate; must be able to cast on, knit, purl and understand basic knitting techniques.

Andrea Mowry creates another masterpiece of color and texture with The Golden Hour, worked in a comfortable worsted-weight. It's a fun introduction to mosaic knitting, bobbles and eyelet lace while playing with three or four of your favorite colors.

We’ve recently added more sessions, and limited participants to 4 people to be sure you get the attention you need.
