KNIT CLUB FOR KIDS with Allison  **MOVING TO TUESDAYS IN SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER**
TUESDAYS, 4 – 5 pm |
September 11 - November 13

This drop-in Knit Club is designed for kids aged 8 – 12 of all levels and abilities. Beginners will learn how to cast on and knit a garter stitch scarf. Ready to go beyond the basics? Come to class with your ideas and Allison will help you find the perfect pattern for your next project.

Level: Beginner. Cost: $15 per session or $10 each for 5 or more classes when pre-registered; plus supplies.


PROJECT CLASS with Sydney/Anne
THURSDAYS, 7 – 9 pm |
Session 5: September 6, 13, 20, 27 and October 4, 11, 18, 25

Turn your knitting frustration into a fun evening! Sydney will help you work through any challenges to finish your project successfully. Please bring an easy project to work on while you wait for your turn to get help. Participants attend any 6 classes out of the 8 scheduled.

Level: Beginner. Cost: $95 per session.

 

 

CONSTRUCTING A COLORWORK GARMENT with Darcie
SUNDAYS, 3 - 5 pm |
September 16, 30 and October 14

Learn some of the construction techniques traditionally used in Fair Isle or stranded colorwork garments such as steeks. These techniques allow you to knit a garment in the round without seams. Choose a yoked sweater, vest, or child/doll size project and enjoy watching the pattern unfold!

Level: Intermediate; must know how to cast-on, knit and purl in the round. Cost: $65; pre-registered; plus supplies.

 


LEARN TO KNIT NEXT STEPS: GIFT PROJECTS with Shellye
WEDNESDAYS, 7 - 9 pm

November 28: Giftable Dishcloths

Gift knitting is a breeze when you plan ahead and pick the right project! Small accessories in beautiful, medium-weight yarn are sure to please your friends and family, and Shellye will take novice knitters step-by-step through new techniques.

Level: Beginner; must know knit/purl and cast on/off. Cost: $25 per class, plus supplies.($45 for Toe-Up Socks)

 


KNITTING STUDIO with Clementine
MONDAYS, 9:30 - 11:30 am |
Session 6: October 1, 8, 15, 22

Carve out some time for yourself and your knitting projects! Clementine will be your coach, cheerleader and technical support for any works you have in progress. Bring a challenge project as well as an easy project to work on while you wait for help. Limit: 8 students.

Level: Advanced beginner; must know basic knitting techniques and be able to knit independently. Cost: $65 for all 4 classes (* $80 in April), or $20 per class, pre-registered; plus supplies.

 


BEGINNING 8-SHAFT WEAVING with Laura
MONDAYS, 2 - 5 pm
October 1, 15, 22, 29

In this class, you will learn the basics of weaving. You will start by winding a warp, before beaming and threading an 8-harness table loom for a sampler. You will also learn good weaving technique, how to read a weaving draft, determine sett, calculate yarn requirements and finish your sampler. This class is designed for those that have never woven before or those that are looking for a basic refresher. Loom and equipment rental included in cost of class.

Level: Advanced beginner. Cost: $125, plus supplies.

SHAWLTOBER FEST KAL with Clementine
WEDNESDAYS, 10:30 am - 12 noon

Celebrate the amazing shawls of German designer Melanie Berg! Her new Shawls book released in late summer is a treasure that will keep you knitting all year round. Join Clementine to knit a shawl of your choice from this book or one of her other beautiful shawl patterns. Participants can choose between a $5 discount on the book or a free Melanie Berg single pattern.

Level: Beginning/intermediate; must know cast on/off and knit/purl. Cost: $50, plus supplies.


LEARN TO KNIT: BEGINNER BASICS with Shellye

Learn the fundamentals of knitting and gain the experience and confidence you'll need to successfully complete your first knitting project.

Level: Absolute beginners and long-lost knitters looking to brush up on the basics. Cost: $60, includes supplies.


ROWAN ANNIVERSARY K/CAL with Clementine

Choose your favorite Rowan pattern from the fall collection to knit- or crochet-along with a friendly, motivated group! Take advantage of Clementine's expert advice to get you through challenges and mistakes along the way. Please note: participants should choose patterns appropriate to their skill level--we love to help you stretch, but not so much that it hurts.

Level: Intermediate Cost: $50, plus supplies.

BEGINNING RIGID HEDDLE WEAVING with Laura
MONDAYS, 2 - 5 pm
November 5 & 12

Come and learn the ins and outs of weaving on a portable rigid heddle loom. We will cover: project planning, warping, weaving and finishing techniques. Bring your own already assembled rigid heddle loom and tools, 8 dpi rigid heddle, and approx. 500 yards total worsted weight yarns. If you don’t have a loom, a limited number available for use during class, reservation required. We will take a short break, bring your own lunch or plan to pick up something close by.  This class is for beginners or those that want to refresh and refine their skills. Please pick up the materials list when you sign up for the class.

Level: Beginner. Cost: $65; or purchase a Cricket Loom and get the class free!

We do our best to help you any time you come with project challenges–if you need more focused attention, or want to be sure someone will be available to help, the Drop-in sessions are for you! We’ve recently added more sessions, and limited participants to 4 people to be sure you get the attention you need.

Private Lessons

When you need to learn or refresh a technique, demystify a complicated pattern or revive a “vintage” project, private lessons are the best choice. Sign up for one-on-one sessions with Anne, half-hour minimum. $15 half-hour, register in advance.
